In a heartbeat, the world became sunless.
Where the bright warm disk's light descended upon Besteng, there were shadows, and last stray sunrays dappled the blossoming field with patchy spots. The ground as well as the sky were completely cloaked in darkness, and the wind picked up more eagerly than before, thrashing blooms and grasses against each other, whirling away leaves. Illsa threw her head up, puzzlement and question in her eyes as she watched the dark side of the moon devour the sun.
Ho'tu's feathers ruffled in unease as he followed his companion's gaze: the Sage seemed just as taken aback as he was, which did little to comfort him. With each next heartbeat, the wind howled louder and the darkness engulfing them deepened, until for just a short moment the sun got completely hidden, before the light began peeking through once again. The wolf and the ptarmigan exchanged worried glances, standing still with baited breath, watching as the world slowly but steadily returned to normal...
But it left them wondering...
What did it all mean?
~
